ERASMUS
PROGRAMME
As a part of the EU Education and Youth Programs,
Erasmus is a program in the field of higher education which aims to
enhance the quality and European perspective of higher education.
To this end, Erasmus program encourages
international cooperation between universities, provides exchange
opportunities in Europe both for students and academics, assists the
international accreditation of the studies to be carried out and

program. It supports the mobility program financially by means of
awarding exchange students/academic staff with a grant that
contributes to additional costs for living abroad.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Erasmus program is open to higher education
institutions in 25 EU member states that implement Socrates program

Lichtenstein and Norway), and also to EU candidate countries (Turkey,
Croatia, and Macedonia).

in all.
Turkey has been
a participant of the program since 2004.
